YOUTH ACTING
WORKSHOPS
At DABB, we create opportunities for actors, and one of our key strands is our Youth Acting Workshops, where acting is at the heart of every session. These workshops are designed to be a space where young people can grow, connect, and gain real insight into the industry, while having fun and developing essential skills. All sessions will have a focus on building confidence, self awareness and bringing themselves into the work they do whilst focusing on one of the 3 elements below each week.

Acting For Stage
These sessions focus on building confidence and presence in live performance, both individually and as part of an ensemble. We’ll explore world-building, character development, and voice and movement techniques, alongside practical tools for breaking down and performing scenes. The aim is to strengthen stagecraft while encouraging truthful, connected performances that engage an audience.

Acting for Screen
These sessions will focus on the craft of acting for camera, developing confidence in front of the lens while exploring subtlety and truth in performance. We’ll look at techniques for working with close-ups, hitting marks naturally, and understanding how camera angles shape storytelling. Sessions will also include breaking down screenplays, character work, and practical exercises to prepare for auditions and on-set experiences.
Improvisation
These sessions are designed to unlock creativity, spontaneity, and confidence through play. Using improv techniques, we’ll explore quick thinking, active listening, and building stories in the moment. The focus will be on collaboration, freeing the imagination, and developing instincts that strengthen both performance skills and ensemble work.
