MEET THE TEAM
Dedication. Expertise. Passion.
Founder & Managing Director
Suraj Shah
A burning passion for acting and an undeniable weakness for Ferrero Rochers (seriously, keep them away from me or they’ll disappear). Back in 2018, after one too many "we should do something" meetings, I decided to take the plunge and do something myself. That’s how DABB, my pride and joy, was born. People often ask why I do this, and the answer is simple: I love making a difference. Plus, knowing that seeing diverse faces on screen and stage can inspire the next generation? That’s just the cherry on top of my Ferrero Rocher stash!
Senior Producer

As an actor I have loved exploring and finding my place within this industry, but honestly, the struggle is real. Despite the progress in inclusivity and diversity, we are moving at a snails pace, which can be extremely disheartening. I’m so proud to be a part of DABB, a company proving that anyone with passion, talent and grit deserves a shot in this crazy industry. Let’s pave our own path!
Head of Auditions & Facilitator
Lauren Douglin-Hendon
As an actor, writer, and comedian hailing from the South Coast, I am beyond excited to join DABB and advocate for marginalized voices in the industry. Ever since I slipped on my first ballet shoes at the age of two and graced the stage at the De La Warr Pavilion, I've had the privilege of performing globally and uplifting others to reach their full potential. Attending the initial General Auditions and witnessing Suraj's unwavering commitment to diverse actors, I've been following his journey closely and am eager to dive in and explore the exciting future ahead for all of us.

After completing my training at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2018, I found myself taking a different path. However, this new direction still allowed me to stay connected to the industry through a BA (Honours) degree in Events Management. It was during this time that Suraj roped me in to assist with the first DABB general auditions, & I haven't regretted it for a second. Fast forward to today, I've proudly graduated from Arts Ed with an MA in Acting.
Senior Events Associate & Well Being

Growing up in Hackney, East London, I always aspired to be a performer. However, the underrepresentation of black East African females in the arts industry made me question my own capabilities. Nevertheless, my encounter with Suraj & our conversation about these challenges ignited a newfound inspiration within me. His determination to amplify marginalised voices resonated deeply. I am thrilled to contribute to this transformative movement, where we establish a platform for individuals to exhibit their talents & receive the recognition they deserve!
