MEET THE TEAM
Dedication. Expertise. Passion.

Founder & Managing Director
Suraj Shah
Back in 2018, after sitting through one too many "we should do something" conversations, I decided it was time to take the plunge and make something happen myself. That’s how DABB came to life. People often ask why I started this journey, and the answer is simple: I love making a difference. Knowing that seeing diverse faces on stage and screen can inspire the next generation? That’s the driving force behind everything I do. Outside of this Im an Actor/Voice Over Artists and have a huge passion for hiking!

Senior Producer
Chenise Lynette
Chenise is Senior Producer at DABB as well as an actor and facilitator. Originally from Margate, she trained at Mountview and has an enthusiasm for change and creating spaces that impact and support different communities, this is a passion which she aims to bring into all aspects of her work. There have been many barriers throughout her training and development that should not have existed and being part of DABB has enabled her to be part of an active, important change.

Head of Auditions & Facilitator
Lauren Douglin-Hendon
As an actor, writer, and comedian hailing from the South Coast, I am beyond excited to join DABB and advocate for marginalized voices in the industry. Ever since I slipped on my first ballet shoes at the age of two and graced the stage at the De La Warr Pavilion, I've had the privilege of performing globally and uplifting others to reach their full potential. Attending the initial General Auditions and witnessing Suraj's unwavering commitment to diverse actors, I've been following his journey closely and am eager to dive in and explore the exciting future ahead for all of us.

Senior Events Associate
Grace Gates Orgill
After completing my training at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2018, I found myself taking a different path. However, this new direction still allowed me to stay connected to the industry through a BA (Honours) degree in Events Management. It was during this time that Suraj roped me in to assist with the first DABB general auditions, & I haven't regretted it for a second. Fast forward to today, I've proudly graduated from Arts Ed with an MA in Acting.

Senior Events Associate & Well Being
Sharon Adugna
Growing up in Hackney, East London, I always aspired to be a performer. However, the underrepresentation of black East African females in the arts industry made me question my own capabilities. Nevertheless, my encounter with Suraj & our conversation about these challenges ignited a newfound inspiration within me. His determination to amplify marginalised voices resonated deeply. I am thrilled to contribute to this transformative movement, where we establish a platform for individuals to exhibit their talents & receive the recognition they deserve!
