OUR JOURNEY

During his time at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Suraj noticed a lack of diversity and representation within the school. This inspired him to create a Twitter account to spark conversations on these important matters. What started as a simple account has now evolved into a support system for Global Majority actors. Many people joined in on the conversations, leading Suraj to establish the DABB Generals Day.

Grace Gates Orgill joined the team after volunteering at the auditions.

Lauren shortly after this joined the team after taking part in the first ever DABB Generals Day.

Since then we became more proactive by sharing paid Casting Calls and creating opportunities like the Cameron Mackintosh Musical Theatre workshop.

Suraj later invited Sharon Adugna to join the team after sharing the same vision, followed by Lauren also joining the team with her fresh ideas and passion.

In 2021, We changed the platform's name to DABB (Diverse Actors Breaking Barriers) from B.A.M.E

In 2023, Chenise joined with her own ideas and energy for change.
In 2024 we officially became DABBLimited.
